Dental Implants: Procedure, Cost, and Success Rate

Dental implants are a surgical procedure that aims to replace missing teeth with an artificial root. This procedure is an effective solution to improve oral health and maintain basic oral functions such as gums and bones surrounding the teeth.

In this article, we will take a look at the stages, cost, and success rate of dental implants.

Main stages of dental implants

1- Diagnosis and planning: The dentist evaluates the patient’s oral health and takes pictures of the mouth, teeth, and surrounding bones to determine the best treatment and plan for the procedure.

2- Implant surgery: The artificial tooth root is inserted into the lower jawbone. This part of the process is the most challenging, but it is performed smoothly using modern techniques and advanced tools.

3- Fusion: After the implant surgery, the bone begins to fuse with the artificial tooth root. This process takes between 3-6 months.

4- Installation of teeth: After complete fusion of the artificial tooth root with the bone, the appropriate artificial teeth are installed.

Cost

The cost is one of the most important factors to consider when thinking about dental implants. The cost varies depending on the condition of the mouth and the number of teeth to be replaced.

The cost of dental implants usually ranges from EGP 12,000 to EGP 20,000 per tooth, and it may reach EGP 25,000 for more complex procedures.

Many health insurance plans may cover some of the costs of dental implants, but the conditions and limits applied to health insurance plans should be checked.

Success rate

Dental implants are considered highly successful surgical procedures. The success rate usually exceeds 95%, but there are some factors to consider to ensure the success of the procedure, such as the patient’s overall health and maintaining good oral care after the procedure.

Dental implants require recovery time after the procedure. The patient may experience pain, swelling, and bleeding after surgery. It is important to follow the dentist’s instructions for oral care after the procedure to ensure the success of the procedure.
